LA-based distributor TGC Global Entertainment has acquired the international rights to NRK in Norway’s forthcoming reality competition format Code Red: The Lighthouse.
Known as Kode Rød: Fyret in its native Norway, the format is a survival competition series in which 10 celebrities are stranded on a remote island with nothing but a lighthouse and each other.
With no access to electricity, running water or outside communication, they must co-operate and compete through a series of survival-inspired challenges. All instructions arrive via radio, and each day brings new psychological and physical tests designed to simulate an extended emergency.
NRK has developed the format in-house into a 12×50’ series set to launch in spring 2026. TGC will present the format to international buyers at Mipcom next month.
